CARE WORK

Care work refers to the paid or unpaid labor of caring for others, labor typically gendered feminine. In heterosexual couples, women do 65% of household labor. Some people can afford to outsource this labor to domestic workers. 91% of domestic workers are women and more than half are women of color. Domestic workers are three times more likely to live in poverty than other workers. This hole, located in a kitchen, is an invitation to approach care work in feminist and queer ways.
